Fundraising for “Soy Niña, Soy Importante” Summer Camp

Fundación Tropicalia, with the help of Friends of EDUCA and the Dominican Foundation, is holding a fundraiser to gather donations to help send 120 Miches girls to FT’s summer camp, Soy Niña, Soy Importante (SNSI). SNSI is a summer day camp that serves girls ages 9-12 years old, and has the mission of providing a safe and nurturing environment where girls can simply be girls. Via didactic and recreational exercises, we give young girls the guidance and tools they need to be self-reflective, critical thinkers and make better life choices.

The cost of sending one girl to camp is USD 150. This covers her transportation and meals; the purchase of didactic materials; staff fees, including a nurse, an assistant camp director, and specialized teachers; room and board for camp counselor volunteers; among other operational expenses. We invite you to help make a difference in the lives of young girls in Miches with a donation to help send a girl to camp. For more information on how to contribute to the cause, please click here.
