Fundación Tropicalia Receives The Law Firm Network's 2025 Community Impact Award
With more than 15 years of work in Miches, Fundación Tropicalia has had a positive impact on the lives of girls in the community, driving their personal and educational development through its "Soy niña, soy importante" ("I'm a girl, I'm important") program, which focuses on gender equity and child welfare. This dedication was recognized with the 2025 Community Impact Award during the gala of The Law Firm Network's annual conference, held Saturday, May 24, at Casa de Campo, La Romana.
The event was organized and hosted by Santroni Parsons, a member firm of The Law Firm Network in the Dominican Republic, and brought together law firms from more than 50 countries.
Sofía Perazzo, President of Fundación Tropicalia and Vice President of Sustainability at Tropicalia, said the recognition fills the team with gratitude and reaffirms that consistent work, guided by human values and holistic development, has the power to transform lives.
"This award belongs to the more than 3,000 girls who have believed in themselves through the Soy Niña, Soy Importante program, and to the families who have found in our programs an opportunity to move forward. But above all, it is a recognition of the entire ecosystem that makes this dream possible: committed sponsors, professionals who generously give their time, our network of ambassadors and volunteers, and the whole team behind this beautiful project, who work with dedication and commitment every day," she added.
Fundación Tropicalia was selected based on the impact of the "Soy Niña, Soy Importante" program, which began in 2013 with a summer camp and today also includes an at-home program, alongside awareness and advocacy campaigns at the national level. The effort is centered primarily in the municipality of Miches, in the province of El Seibo.
The award also recognizes the consistency of the foundation's work in Miches and the practical orientation of its initiatives. It adds to a long track record of generating social value in key areas such as education, gender equality, economic development, and sustainability, reaffirming Fundación Tropicalia's commitment to solutions that create real impact and contribute to the wellbeing of the Miches community.
